I WAS IN THE FIGHT of MY LIFE last 11 days, Released from the Hospital on Memorial Day...
I've been a sold-out all or nothing radical Jesus freak, living out the Word of God Disciple since age 17. I was one of these teenagers pastors often preach to, to give their life up to God, follow Him completely, to live out the Word of God and follow in the footsteps of the Master, living out the life Jesus modeled for us all. I said, "YES!" to God. I was ALL IN for whatever He might have in store for my future. I knew that, so long I was close to Him, I would be okay.
2 Years Later, I joined the Marine Corps. I believed we needed more representation of that truly authentic man of God on the front lines. [see my military service]
HOW MARINE CORPS TRAINING and GOD saved my physical life in the past 2 weeks.
The ultra-max discipline, command of the body (mind over body), physical control and situational awareness and of self - that all Marines are trained in, automatically kicked in and I used the skills to perfectly overcome the worst threat to my physical life. Running the race to the end, not going down without a fight in overcoming physical injuries.
I'm less than one day out from (released on Memorial Day) as I type this, of about a 11 day stay - 7 in the ICU, fighting for my life, recovering in 1/3 of the time, amazing all my ICU nurses about how I perfectly complied with all their orders and was able to control pain of 5 days fully awake being intubated.
Learning their stories later, thanking them, finding out all along I was surrounded by many, many strong Christians that God used to help me in my biggest life threatening event. Hum, it's like SOMEONE pre-planned and positioned the rescue team! You know who.
THAT ONE NIGHT...
I reached one night in which I felt it was my night to depart and wrote my final words:
God is good.
Love God with Passion!
SEMPER FI (always faithful) - Marine Cops Motto.
Always, always living the life of being faithful to my very last minute, with the courage of a lion, and in service to the Kingdom. These are my fresh memories and testimony.
