This is a personal passionate topic for me (Citizen Dave). When it comes to controlling one's future, I've always said, "Every Culture, People, Society has a Right and a Duty to Govern Themselves." God has placed the decision making in their own hands and, for better or worse, they reap what they sow - BUT their future, should rightfully only be in their hands.
There are many separatist, independence-type movements around the globe. Here are a few I personally find interesting. Some peak my interest due to them being close to the United States, and the others because they have a Celtic heritage.
EUROPE: Scotland, Wales, United Ireland (Northern Ireland re-joining Ireland), Catalin (in Spain)
