The first ever state Personhood Amendment introduced in U.S. History
The UHLA ran for 3 seasons (2005-2009) of petition signature gathering under:
Mississippi Peoples' Constitutional Initiative #22, #23, #24

In 2005, Citizen Dave (aka Pro-Life Dave) introduced the first ever state pro-life Personhood Amendment in U.S. History. Dave is sometimes known as the founding father of the Personhood Movement - which is now a world-wide movement for protection of the unborn.
Dave filing the People's Constitutional Initiative #23 at the Mississippi Sec of State's Office, across the street from the State Capitol in Jackson.
THE BASICS OF ESTABLISHING PERSONHOOD FOR UNBORN
States already have existing laws on the books against the intentional killing of a human being, a person. State Personhood Amendments officially declare in a state's constitution (state legislature can't change it) that an unborn child is a person legally from the moment of fertilization. Hence, the intentional killing of an unborn child is murder. The only potential exception to this would be to save the life of the mother. Constitutional Amendments are only one way, but a key way, in establishing the legal personhood status for unborn children.
Dave said, "Being the first to do this was very difficult due to the fact we had to educate people on this never done before concept." The work Dave did, while it never gathered enough petition signatures to get it on a state-wide ballot, it laid the foundation for the Personhood Movement, which is now a world-wide movement for the protection of unborn children. "It helped shine a light back upon Personhood for unborn children - the original pro-life strategy and the only way to end legalized abortion," Dave said, "Something the Pro-Life Movement had forgotten and in great error and moved away from.
The filing of the amendment was delayed from August 2005 to December due to Dave's Gulf Coast AFA office and Christian Library being destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
Wording of the UHLA changed a bit from #22, #23, to the version seen above, #24 being the best.
Initiative #22 used the term "conception." We switched in Initiate #23 to using "fertilization" - which was legally and medically more accurate. In Initiate #24 (seen above) we pushed the limits and went full patriotic, founding fathers, and included a public call for repentance. Yee haw! There's something very thrilling about going full blown patriotic and being proud of it! Go God, Go Bold or Go Home!
